Free Exclusive Screening of Mellisa Auf Der Maur film

On Tuesday, March 30 at 7:30pm, "The Studio" at Harbor Place, 114 S. Genesee st., Waukegan, IL will screen "Out Of Our Minds", a 28-minute short film by musician Melissa Auf der Maur (Hole/Smashing Pumpkins) and director Tony Stone. The screening will be held at 114 South Genesee Street in downtown Waukegan. The film is being screened exclusively in Waukegan in conjunction with the release date of the "OOOM" Album and DVD.

This OOOM screening will be hosted by Callie Melton.

About the film.....
28 minutes - color – short narrative
Behind-the-scenes: 15 minutes - experimental/non-narrative

“Three time periods, one connection: Blood. The central characters are a woman and her car. We follow her in a strange ritual that climaxes in a collision between the past and future - crashing through the gateway to parallel worlds in the same forest. A fantasy world where a Viking heart, a car crash and a bleeding forest connect.” According to Auf der Maur, “In this film, the use of music rather than dialogue… was the key in telling a story that speaks to our emotions, not the rational mind. Irrational, surreal and fantastical were a must, as this whole project is an ode to leaving our minds, in order to visit the other side – the Heart side!”

Food and drinks are available for purchase at the Greentown Tavern (110 S. Genesee Street) and the BRICK cafe (30 N. Genesee Street).

Everyone is invited to attend this free event.
